Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about our thermal insulation fabric — facing options, temperature ratings, pipe wrapping, and ordering.

Aluminum foil facing: best radiant heat reflection, acts as vapor barrier. Glass cloth facing: high mechanical durability, no vapor barrier, higher temperature ceiling (450°C vs 300°C for foil). PVC facing: moisture protection, indoor use only. No facing: maximum breathability, used as inner layer in multi-layer systems. We can advise based on whether your priority is thermal, acoustic, or moisture control.
Thermal conductivity varies by density and facing. Unfaced E-glass fabric typically achieves 0.035–0.045 W/m·K at 25°C. Aluminum foil facing reflects radiant heat rather than conducting it, effectively lowering the system’s overall heat transfer. We provide K-value data sheets for each product variant on request.
Yes. E-glass fabric maintains its mechanical properties down to -50°C and does not become brittle at low temperatures. For LNG or extreme cryogenic applications below -50°C, we recommend a multi-layer system with vapor barrier — contact our engineers for a specification tailored to your operating temperature.
Yes. This is one of our most common applications. We supply the fabric in roll form with your choice of facing, or we can coordinate fabrication into removable insulation blankets. For outdoor use, we recommend aluminum foil facing with reinforced lamination for weather resistance. For applications requiring fire-rated performance (e.g., welding curtains, SOLAS barriers), see our Fireproof Fabric — available with silicone or aluminum foil coating for enhanced fire protection.
For fabric installation we recommend stainless steel tie wire, our aluminum foil tape for seam sealing (available from us), and hook-and-loop or lacing fasteners for removable systems. We can supply compatible accessories with your fabric order — ask when placing your inquiry.
Uncoated woven fiberglass insulation fabric is classified under HS 7019.69.90.90. With aluminum foil or glass cloth facing (coated or laminated, width > 30 cm), it falls under HS 7019.64.90.90. We state the code on our commercial invoice; your local customs broker can confirm the destination-specific subheading.
